Hangin' Judge Border Feud Rodeo
- April 26 - 27, 2008
The Rodeo runs Saturday and Sunday. The
stock for the Border Feud Rodeo will again be provided by
Bar V Rodeo Company, which has had stock at the IFR Finals
in Oklahoma City. This year our two bullfighters will
be - Matt Cox of Lonoke, the 2006 IPRA World Champion and
Rob Gann of Lonoke, Arkansas, the 2003 & 2006 IPRA World
Champion and 2004 IPRA Reserve World Champion in cowboy protection.
This rodeo is just one of the events sponsored
by the Arkansas-Oklahoma Regional Education and Promotion
Association, a non-profit charitable foundation that is
under the Internal Revenue Code 501-C3. This event is self
sustained with no tax dollars being used in its funding.
The foundation's objective is to promote education to our
area's youth in the way of Agriculture. This is fulfilled
by the youth's involvement in Hangin' Judge Border Feud
Rodeo and Spring Livestock show, the Arkansas-Oklahoma State
Fair and the Old Fort Days Dandies. The youth's involvement
in these events qualifies them to make application for our
scholarship program.
With the monies that are generated from
these events, there are currently 40 students attending
various colleges and universities around the area on the
scholarships provided by the AOREPA. Inc.
The scholarship program was established in the Fall of 1992
and has paid out over $544,000 as
of January 2007!
This rodeo
is accomplished by the help of many volunteers
dedicating their time and energy to make this rodeo a success!
